Lateral Thinking Trainings
This is Edward de Bono’s internationally acclaimed business creativity and innovation workshop. Creative and innovative thinking is a skill that can be learned, resulting in increased productivity, competitive advantage and profit.
Creativity is not just about creating something new, it’s a very important tool that helps to define and improve processes and products. This workshop provides tools and techniques that ensure you can:
– Challenge current thinking.
– Problem solve effectively and efficiently.
– Generate innovative ideas with a creative thinking toolkit.
The training lasts 2 full days from 9 to 5 when we cover the main Lateral Thinking techniques and can practice them on both general as well as your specific business-related problems.
What is Lateral Thinking
Our brain works in patterns. Great in standard situation – helps us to save time and energy as human being on all the repeated tasks, it becomes a pain when we face a new situation and even more when we need to improve or innovate the existing way of thinking.
Lateral Thinking is a set of psychological techniques that helps the brain to break the standard thinking patterns and forces it to build the new connections and ways. Developed by Edward deBono, one of the most prominent figures in cognitive psychology, Nobel Prize nominee, in 60-70’s, now it’s found the successful application in the business and education world.
Lateral Thinking approach includes several stages:
– Focus: definition of the problem and its opening for new entries
– Creativity techniques: Alternative, Random Entry, Provocation, Challenge
– Harvesting: gathering, sorting, evaluation and selection of ideas
Lateral Thinking approach may be used in group or individually. We observe that when used in groups, it normally brings more prolific results. It’s recommended for all or at least most people in a team to be trained in Lateral Thinking techniques to use them more productively in the everyday group work.
